What the extension is
market.fun for X is a Chrome extension that adds a Market button to posts on x.com and twitter.com. Clicking it opens market.fun in a new tab, ready to turn that post into a prediction market.
What it stores
One optional setting: the site address the Market button opens, if you change it on the extension's options page. It is saved with chrome.storage.sync, so Chrome keeps it in your browser and syncs it to your other signed-in Chrome browsers. Nothing else is stored.
What it does not do
- It does not read the text, images or authors of posts. It only reads each post's link to know which post a button belongs to.
- It makes no network requests of its own.
- It sets no cookies and has no analytics, tracking or advertising.
- It does not run on any site other than x.com and twitter.com.
What happens when you click Market
The extension opens the market.fun create page in a new tab, with the address of that one post in the page address (for example /create?tweet=https://x.com/user/status/123). Only the post you clicked is sent, and only when you click. From there the market.fun site handles it: it loads the post's public text through X's public embed service to draft a market question. Creating the market needs you to sign in on the site: with the hosted wallet it is created in one step; with an external wallet you confirm a pre-filled form. The site's own handling of that data applies, not this extension.
Removing it
Removing the extension from Chrome deletes its stored setting. Nothing about you is kept by the extension anywhere else.
